Calculus Functions: Are You Ready For A Turn-Up?

Sorry - not that type of turn-up...

Similar to the quote "what you put in is what you get out of it",

functions are a way to relate an input and output.

A common way of naming a function in calculus is 'f(x) =...' The most common name is "f", but we can have other names like "g".. or even "q" if we want.

Here we see that..

  • f is the name of the function

  • what goes into the function is put inside parentheses ()

So f(x) shows us the function that is called "f" will have "x" go into it. Then, your job is to understand what the output of the function is and means. We have a fun free function reference chart of all the important #calculus #functions you may need to know!
